Summary: | The genus Malgachebates (Oribatida, Plasmobatidae) is recorded in Ethiopia for the first time. A new species-M. theroni Ermilov sp. nov.-is described, based on adult and nymphal instars collected from litter in bamboo belt. Data on nymphal instars are the first data on juveniles within Malgachebates and the detailed juvenile data within Plasmobatidae. An identification key, distribution, and habitats to the known representatives of Malgachebates are provided.
