Summary:Fractures of the distal end of the femur in adult are not common and not easy to treat because of their sites near to the knee joint and difficulity in getting rigid fixation. Thirty cases of this fracture were treated operatively in our hospital in the last nine years, 26 cases were by A-O condylar plates, 3 cases by Ender's nails, one case by A-O cancellous screws. According to the knee rating scale by Insall et al, the results of treatments were analyzed in this study. The results were as follows; excellent; 34.8%, good; 39.1%, fair; 8.7%, bad; 17.3%, and failure; 0%.
