Summary:Between January 1998 and June 2000, 62 patients had been treated with continuous epidural injections for low-back and leg pain. The clinical results were evaluated by the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score. The average JOA score improved significantly from 10.3 to 18.8 points. Only 13 patients (20.1%) were underwent surgical operation. One patient had a complication of epidural abscesses. We conclude that this method was useful for the patients with low-back and leg pain, and moreover, both patients and doctors can have times to think about treatments.
