Summary:Schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which are often first detected during adolescence, commonly co-occur. Individually, they are some of the most complex and challenging psychiatric disorders to manage. This article reports on a case of an adolescent with co-morbid schizophrenia and OCD and the use of exposure and response prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD in the context of management of his schizophrenia and addressing developmental issues. This contributed to the overall stabilization of the youth’s condition.
