Summary:1.6Nb2O5-3Y2O3-ZrO2 nanosized powders were prepared under high temperature and pressure conditions by precipitation from metal nitrates with aqueous potassium hydroxide. Spherical powder was obtained at 185 C and 6 h. The average size and size distribution of the synthesised particles were below 7 nm and narrow, respectively. The XRD pattern shows that the synthesised particles were crystalline. It is shown that the synthesis of the nanosized crystalline particles is possible under hydrothermal conditions in aqueous solution. 11 refs.
