Summary:The goal was to analyze the practices of IHRM for expatriation in two late movers brazilian multinational companies. The research follows a qualitative approach, which typology is classified as a study of multiple cases. It is of exploratory and descriptive nature. As a data collection technique, interviews, documental analysis and observation were adopted. The results of the study verify that there are similarities in recruiting and selection practices, compensation, career development and performance assessment in both multinational companies. The key point of this research lies in the evidence that neither the multinational companies provide repatriation programs based on the career development of the expatriate, nor do they contemplate a specific process to evaluate the expatriate’s performance.
