Summary:A 60-year-old woman with visual disturbance and a history of premature menopause at age 20 years was found on magnetic resonance imaging to have a lesion (6.0 by 4.0 by 5.0 cm) in the suprasellar cistern, extending inferiorly through the floor of the sella into the sphenoid sinus and involving and destroying clivus bilaterally, as well as having suprasellar extension that caused compression of the optic chiasm. The diagnosis found in this study is prolactinoma, before and after treatment with dopamine agonist. The goal of dopamine agonist therapy is normalization of serum prolactin levels and reduction or elimination of the pituitary mass.
