Summary: | The language model AI ChatGPT was interviewed on the subject of open access. While this version of ChatGPT was trained on content published before the end of 2021, it has ingested a large amount of text from the web. As such, even though it hasn’t reviewed the most recent events, it could be thought of as a stand in for the web at large. To the extent that this is the case, its perspective is worth reading. The result, unsurprisingly, is familiar. There is little, if anything that is new, but it is a good summary of the current state of open access. |
