Summary:Abstract A high-performance frequency synthesizer based on phase-locked loop (PLL) technology is proposed for high-power, solid-state microwave sources. The PLL circuit is simulated, optimized, and analyzed by using ADIsimPLL software. The methods to improve the phase noise performance of the frequency source are summarized. Using ADF4351, STM32, ADL5611, and other devices to complete the hardware circuit and software control part of the design, the low noise frequency source is successfully established. The frequency source can output the signal in the frequency range of 2.3 G-2.5 G, the phase noise is within - 97.30 dBc@1 KHz, the output power reaches 20 dBm, the overall performance is excellent, and meets the requirements of a solid-state microwave source.
