Summary: | Over the past couple of years, the use of nano fluids to enhance the heat transfer has been reported by several researchers. The experimental investigation was done on the forced convection heat transfer of spiral heat exchangers using copper oxide (CuO) nano fluids (of fixed volumetric concentration) as a coolant. The various heat transfer parameters considered for the study which are Nusselt number, heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer rate and Reynolds Number. Studies revealed that, the heat transfer enhancement does occur in the heat exchanger (HE) using nanofluids but at the cost of pumping power. |
