Summary:Based on mathematical modeling, an investigation has been made into the processes of segregational separation of hydrocarbon phases in the regime of depletion and extraction of retrograde condensate from depleted gas condensate reservoirs. It has been established that the occurrence of segregation processes in the case of depletion of gas condensate reservoirs results in the formation of a man-made condensate bank near the gas–water contact. An efficient method of extraction of retrograde condensate from man-made condensate banks is waterflooding.
