Summary:During the review of the Brazilian species of Lorostemon (Clusiaceae), we verified that some specimens previously reported as L. bombaciflorus Ducke for South Guyana and the Brazilian Eastern Amazonia belong to a species still unknown to science. Here, we provide a description, taxonomic comments, illustrations, and a distribution map of Lorostemon roseoviridis Fer.-Silva & L.Marinho, a new species from eastern Amazonia.
