Summary:Over the past two decades, the pursuit of environmentally responsible and cost-effective methods for nanomaterial production has been ongoing. This aims to reduce the reliance on hazardous chemicals detrimental to human health. The industry’s overall impact on human well-being is a subject of persistent debate. To address this question, we have examined the types and properties of nanomaterials, nanomaterial synthesis routes, different characterizations of nanomaterials, progress on nanomaterials in different fields, environmental aspects of the use of nanomaterials, and the impact of nanomaterials on industrial innovations. The review highlighted that nanomaterials pave the way for the formation of smaller, more efficient, and more powerful technologies for energy production, absorption, and storage. Nanomaterials drive significant industrial innovation, revolutionizing sectors like electronics, medicine, and energy with examples such as ultra-efficient solar panels, targeted drug delivery systems, and high-performance materials in electronics.
