Summary:In recent years, the radiation processing in China has developed rapidly. National Institute of Metrology (NIM) is duty-bound to supervise and ensure the quality of the processing products for the irradiation facilities countrywide. Because of the excellent behaviour, alanine-ESR dosimetry system(IAEA, 1981; Regulla and Deffener, 1982) as well as the other ones have been selected for the purpose to study at NIM since 1983. In 1988, the NIM set up a program of National Dose Assurance Service (NDAS)(Gao Juncheng et al, 1990; Gao Juncheng, 1996), which bases on the NIM developed alanine-ESR system. From then on, over 600 dose checks have been made for more than sixty cobalt-60 facilities in the frame of the NDAS program in China. This paper describes the implementation of the NDAS program, its measurement results and the problems concerned.
