Summary:A theory of heat transfer at condensation of liquid vapors on the tube wall has been developed. The theory presents pores near the wall of a horizontal tube placed into a granular layer as flat slots with hydraulic diameter corresponding to the layer porosity. A generalizing relationship for the Nusselt number, agreeing with experimental data, has been found. The limit solution for the heat transfer on a smooth horizontal tube at condensation was obtained on the basis of the formulated statement of the problem. This solution describes the known experimental data and data of this paper better than the Nusselt theoretical dependence does.
