Summary:The article presents the results of a study of the optical properties of cesium-containing quartzoid glasses (QG NFF-Cs) obtained as a result of the heat treatment of high-silica porous glasses (PGs) impregnated with aqueous solutions of CsNO 3 . It is established that the introduction of cesium into the composition of high-silica quartz glasses (QG NFF) led to the emergence of absorption bands at 332, 384, 388, 442, 492, 565, 567, 583, 586, 621, 635, 695, 696, and 703 nm, which are related to the absorption of cesium atoms. The introduction of cesium into the composition of the glass leads to a decrease in the absorbance QG NFF-Cs by 15–20% compared to the QG NFF and to the drag of the refractive index . The maximum increase in the refractive index of the synthesized quartzoid glasses containing cesium is 0.002 (QG NFF n D, 1.4605; QG NFF-Cs n D , 1.4625) for PG impregnation conditions with 0.6 mol/L CsNO 3 within 3 days.
