Summary:A lipomatous ganglioneuroma is a rare variant of a ganglioneuroma. This case study describes a primary retroperitoneal lipomatous ganglioneuroma discovered in the course of our clinical work. The case involved a 50-year-old male. The patient was referred to our hospital for tumor resection. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging revealed an imaging of 8 cm tumor adhering to the left renal artery. We constructed a three-dimensional organ model with a three-dimensional printer according to CT data and, upon confirming strong adhesion to the renal artery and kidney, performed a laparoscopic radical nephrectomy of the left kidney. The mass was diagnosed as a lipomatous ganglioneuroma by pathological assessment including immunohistochemistry. This is the third known report of a retroperitoneal lipomatous ganglioneuroma. This case allowed us to experience an extremely rare lipomatous ganglioneuroma.
