On the correlation of height on stomatal frequency and size in two lines of Hordeum vulgare L

Meiotically stable tall and dwarf cultivars of Hordeum vulgare L. (2 n=14), were analyzed for stoma frequency and size along with the interveinal width, number of rows of epidermal cells and size of epidermal cells, to investigate the correlation of height on these characteristics. Stomatal frequenc...

Summary:Meiotically stable tall and dwarf cultivars of Hordeum vulgare L. (2 n=14), were analyzed for stoma frequency and size along with the interveinal width, number of rows of epidermal cells and size of epidermal cells, to investigate the correlation of height on these characteristics. Stomatal frequency and size in the tall and dwarf plants were significantly correlated with interveinal width and number of epidermal cell rows between them which confirmed part of an earlier hypothesis. Plant height correlation with stomatal relationships should be considered a necessary parameter for inheritance studies.
