Summary:Pleomorphic adenoma is a common neoplasm in the oral cavity. This tumor occurs most frequently at the parotid gland in the major salivary gland and at the palate in the minor salivary gland. This tumor rarely develops at the lip. Usually, it appears at the age between 2nd and 5th decades; few cases occur in childhood. We encountered a case of pleomorphic adenoma on the upper lip of a child. The patient, a 7-year-old boy, visited our clinic with a mass on the upper lip. There have been 59 cases of pleomorphic adenoma on the upper lip documented in Japan (1961-1991). This patient is the youngest of the 59 cases. The clinical features of this case are presented along with a review of the literature on pleomorphic adenoma.
