Summary:As weight reduction in transportation equipment becomes increasingly important to address domestic and international environmental issues, interest in lightweight metals such as aluminum and magnesium is growing, and various new materials are being used. However, the use of materials that are difficult to form and weld is increasing, requiring new approaches. One joining approach is to use electromagnetic force. Since the joining is performed in a solid state, it has the advantage of suppressing the generation of various types of compounds that may occur at the interface of the joined parts. In this study, in order to examine the corrosiveness of galvanic corrosion that can occur during dissimilar joining, electromagnetic pulse joints were fabricated using aluminum and steel materials and their corrosion properties were ana lyzed through corrosion tests and tensile tests. The effect of a coating layer on the corrosion resistance of the electromagnetic pulse joint was discussed. KCI Citation Count: 0
