Summary:The possibility of engaging in curative treatment of prostate cancer shapes the rational of its investigation. Endorectal MRI imaging is used for the detection of local and regional spread, and isotope bone scan is used for distant metastases. In the face of a rising PSA, the PET/CT scan using labelled choline will become doubtless the examination of choice when looking for recurrence.
