Summary:Bronchial obstruction is a widespread pathological condition in children. The development of this syndrome in bronchial asthma is caused by an allergic inflammation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract with the participation of leukotrienes. It is found that the blocking of leukotriene receptors using the montelukast drugs has a therapeutic effect, including in children at the age of 2 and above. The drugs are well tolerated by children, can prevent a post-exertional bronchospasm and in some clinical situations can be used as an alternative to glucocorticoids.
