Summary: | Abstract
In the manufacture of heat exchange equipment, which has been widely used in the oil and gas industry, arc welding methods are often used. This can lead, depending on the material performance of the apparatus, to a significant increase in energy and labor costs. The purpose of the studies in this article was to find out whether samples obtained using friction welding technology, which is an alternative to arc welding methods, meet the requirements for corrosion resistance of heat exchange equipment from heat-resistant hardening steels during its operation, and also compare them with samples obtained using arc welding methods. To do this, studies were carried out on the microstructures of welded joints and distributions of electrode potential values in various zones of welded joints and base metal. At the end of the article, conclusions are drawn based on a comparison of the microstructures of the investigated compounds, as well as the distribution of electrode potential values over the base metal and welded joint of samples made using various welding methods. |
