Summary: | TERMEAL®2.0 provides 2 kcal per 1 ml, which allows a high amount of energy to be obtained in a small quantity. We gave TERMEAL®2.0 to 30 patients who underwent oral surgery, and evaluated the usefulness of this product. After treatment, nutritional status, evaluated on the basis of total protein, albumin, and total cholesterol levels, improved as compared with before TERMEAL®2.0 treatment. There was no significant difference in side effects between TERMEAL®2.0 and several other transintestinal nutritional supplements. We conclude that TERMEAL®2.0 is useful in patients undergoing oral and maxillofacial surgery. |
