Summary:A 16-year-old asymptomatic man was admitted to our institution for an abnormal shadow in the left upper mediastinum identified on a routine chest radiograph during a medical examination. Chest CT revealed an anterior mediastinal mass, which measured 7 cm in diameter, and a coin lesion in the upper lobe of the left lung. For the purpose of diagnosis and treatment, both resection of the mass and partial resection of the lung were performed. The histopathological diagnosis of both was cavernous hemangioma. Cavernous hemangioma in the thoracic field is comparatively rare, and simultaneous appearance in the mediastinum and lung is likely to be extremely rare.
