Application of Grüneisen's formula to the evaluation of recoil-free fractions for the γ-rays of 57Fe in cubic lattices
Using Grüneisen's expression for mean atomic vibrational amplitudes, ratios of recoil-free fractions at different temperatures for 57Fe in various cubic lattices are evaluated and compared with results of Mössbauer experiments. Discrepancies observed for an iron host lattice are discussed.
