Summary:The reliability and safety of equipment operated for a long time in thermal power plants are ensured by the current industry system for diagnostics and assessment of the metal’s condition, which is supported by regulatory documentation in this area. Proposals for updating some key provisions of this documentation have been formulated and technically substantiated. Based on the computational analysis, specific recommendations for improving the existing system of metal quality standards are given, and an approach to extend the service life of equipment after long and ultra-long operating times is optimized.
