Interband Light Absorption in a Superlattice Consisting of Alternating Segments of Single and Double Layers of Graphene

Summary:A model of a superlattice consisting of alternating single and double layers of graphene is studied. The energy spectrum of the superlattice can be controlled by an external electric field perpendicular to a sample’s surface. It is shown that the energy spectrum of such a structure can be approximated by the Kane model. The coefficient of interband absorption for such a superlattice is calculated.
