Summary:Commercial trials established that up to 250 kg of sludge prepared by a simplified technology can be used per ton of sinter without significant deterioration of the sintering indices. Sludge consumption can be increased to 400-430 kg/ton for short periods of time. In this case, the consumption of sintering ore should be at least 180 kg/ton sinter. The effectiveness of using sludge in sintering can be improved further by improving the methods used to store the sludge and by modernizing existing sludge-preparation facilities or building new facilities equipped with modern processing machinery.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
