As the value of data and data access increases, the question of who can or should control access has been raised in the context of privacy and fair competition. This contribution presents insights to what extent key EU regulations in the current legal framework are fit for the purpose to help unlock the innovative potential of connected and automated cars looking at the balancing of the main stakeholders’ interests.
