Summary:We propose a method for deblurring motion-blurred JPEG images that is based on an image restoration method. Motion-blurred JPEG images are degraded by the motion-blur as well as JPEG coding and decoding processes. The quantization noise on the JPEG coding, decoding, and the edge orientation are taken into consideration in this method. The results from our computer simulation prove the effectiveness of our method: while the images restored by the conventional restoration method are noisy, but the images deblurred using our proposed method are much better. Our method implicitly estimates the parameters by evaluating the deblurred image. The evaluation of the deblurred image is based on the skewness of the power spectrum of the output, which is obtained by applying a Measurement Differencing Filter to the deblurred image.
