Summary: | The first workshop on ELMO Bumpy Torus (EBT) ring physics held at Oak Ridge, Tennessee is reviewed. The results from the early hot electron ECH experiments and the theoretical aspects of stability were surveyed. The three papers presented in the session devoted to experiments dealt primarily with ring formation and experimental measurements in NBT and EBT, and the attempt to resolve (or to indicate) the apparent discrepancy between EBT and minimum-B mirrors. The remaining sessions discussed ring and core modelling, microwave heating and radiation, power balance, and stability. |
