Summary:Right-sided infective endocarditis is common in patients who use intravenous drugs. However, even when leaflets are heavily damaged as a result of the endocarditis, an attempt of valve repair is worth a try. Tricuspid valve repair is superior to valve replacement because it is associated with  a lower rate of recurrence and reoperation.
