Summary:The authors report new evidence on the presence of Halodue wrightii , in the southern part of the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). The population found in Topolobampo Bay, Sinaloa, is 490 km south of the first and previously known Pacific coast of Mexico occurrence of Halodue in Punta Chueca, Sonora. The anatomy of the plants and form of life are very similar to those of Punta Chueca, Son. Sympatrically occurring with Zostera marina L. and Ruppia maritima L., near the southern limit of the distribution known for Z. marina in the Gulf of California.
