Summary:Recently, light-coding depth cameras, with their relatively good performance, have been widely used for depth image generation. To extend the field of view, multiple depth cameras usually have to be employed for scene representation and reconstruction. However, the interference among multiple light-coding depth cameras degrades the quality of depth images significantly. In this paper, we present an interference reduction method based on reference planes for light-coding depth cameras. We characterize the mathematical model of pattern interference on each reference plane, and derive a method to extract depth values with the assistance of the reference planes. Experimental results show that our proposed method effectively reduces the interference caused by multiple light-coding based cameras.
