Structural and immunological characterization of a Pen a 1 mutant, carrying amino acid substitutions in all major IgE-binding sites

RATIONALE: Since Pen a 1 (tropomyosin), the only major allergen of the brown shrimp Penaeus aztecus, is responsible for the majority of IgE-mediated hypersensitivity to shrimp, a mutated mPen a 1 was produced as a vaccine candidate for shrimp-specific immunotherapy (SIT).
