Summary:The article presents the research on the issues of pupils’ personal efficiency formation revealed in the psychological system of I. O. Sikorskyi. The scientist’s conceptual approach to pupils’ personal efficiency formation in the educational space is analyzed. The article notes that I. O. Sikorskyi was the first Ukrainian psychologist who, at the early twentieth century, put forward the issue of «personal factors» that influence learning and identified them as affecting not only the effectiveness of educational work, but also pupils’ personal efficiency. It is emphasized that the scientist, within the self-development paradigm, presented the problem of pupils’ formation as personally effective / ineffective subjects of learning activities in a dichotomous projection. It is found that I. O. Sikorskyi revealed the technology of formation of personally successful and effective pupils through changes of their self-concept. It is noted that the scientist outlined start of the expansion of pupils’ personal efficiency limits during ontogenesis. It is stated that I. O. Sikorskyi, revealing psychological essence of pupils’ mental development, described the personal architectonics of pupils’ efficiency. It is shown that the idea of pupils’ «feeling protection», put forward by the scholar, is the important factor preventing personal development destruction and supporting formation of personally successful and effective pupils. It is noted that Sikorskyi’s ideas on «uniform development of abilities», «symmetrical development of mental abilities», «harmonious development of mental powers» is the apperception of the scientist’s understanding of the effective, qualitative and meaningful characteristics of personally successful pupil formation during ontogenetic development and self-development.
