Summary:The Minnesota rectifier is a well established topology, however, no serious attempts have been made to explicitly investigate the improvement in power quality by the use of this rectifier. This paper discusses the harmonic reduction in the line currents of a three-phase diode bridge rectifier by third harmonic current injection technique. The improved performance of the current injection technique is validated by comparing the simulation results of a rectifier unit with and without current injection technique.
