A case of Sphecodes bee sting in Japan

An 11 year-old male was stung by a female Sphecodes japonicus (Hymenoptera, Halictidae) in Toyama Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. He felt a severe pain at the moment of the bee sting. This is the first reported case of Sphecodes bee sting in Japan.
