ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of 1,1′-{3-[(Alkylsulfanyl)methyl] tetrahydro-2H-thiopyran-3,5-diyl}diethanones from Sodium Sulfide and Thiols

The direct condensation of thiols (I) with formaldehyde (II), acetone (III) and sodium sulfide leads to title compounds (IV) in good yields.
