Summary:This article explores the possibility of developing musical, social and personal skills in children, reflecting on the effects of their participation in community choir projects. Two projects, designed by adults, in which children are active subjects of artistic practices, which enhance music as an instrument for their sociocultural and affective development, are analysed. Through an ethnographic approach, these projects were monitored and focus groups and interviews with participants were conducted. The data collected suggest that those involved recognise positive effects on children in terms of personal and social skills and their ability to enjoy and build musical taste.
