Summary:Optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)is a technique for blood vessel imaging of retinochoroidal atrophy without a vascular contrast agent. Recently, OCTA equipment has been sold on the market and is rapidly becoming a familiar ophthalmic examination modality. OCTA can avoid the risk of allergic reaction to vascular contrast agents and reduces cumbersome examination procedures. OCTA can observe changes in retinochoroidal atrophy pathology at each follow up visit, thus it is considered a highly useful examination technique. In this article, clinical applications of OCTA are given, as well as notable points during examination.
