Summary:A time-of-flight spectrometer with a relatively thick 6Li glass scintillator for neutron detection and an ionization chamber containing minimal built-in material for fission fragment detection were used for low-energy fission neutron spectrum determination. The efficiency of a 0.95 cm thick NE 912 glass neutron detector was determined independently by using 0.0835 cm thin glass detector as a reference, whose efficiency was determined by Monte Carlo calculations. New efficiency data are given for a thin 6Li glass detector, and the measured efficiencies for a thick glass detector and the californium neutron energy spectrum at low energies are presented. The measured neutron energy spectrum can be well described by the complex evaporation model.
