Summary:We have developed and implemented a new approach to postoperative defect repair in patients with pilonidal fistula (PF) and pilonidal cyst (PC). We analyzed different variants of subcutaneous fat and skin suturing, as well as the avoidance of drains in the area of intervention. The new approach reduced the incidence of postoperative  wound suppuration and wound dehiscence.
