Summary: | A multifunction controller has been developed for the automation of small and medium-scale plants. The main features are: substantial number of inputs and outputs, autonomous configuration by using the faceplate, flexibility of applications due to replaceable regulatory and logic function blocks, peer-to-peer communication. The latter allows one to control larger, highly interactive plants by means of a network of small instruments. Over 200 controllers have been installed in industry so far, ranging from steam turbine control to milk pasteurization. |
