Summary:Over the past 30 years, Taiwan's industrial structure has transformed from manufacturing to service. In 2013, contributions of manufacturing and service industries to Taiwan's GDP were 31.0% and 67.3% respectively, suggesting an industrial structure that is similar to developed countries. Meanwhile, the main factor driving economic growth has changed from capital to multifactor productivity, including technological changes, improvement in management, enhanced investment quality and production efficiency, returns to scale, changes in industrial structure, and the re-allocation of resources.
