Summary:We report a case of pyogenic arthritis of hip treated with calcium hydroxyapatite blocks impregnated antibiotic. A 76-year-old male with a history of diabetes visited our hospital with high fever and right hip pain. He was diagnosed with MRSA arthritis of the hip by magnetic resonance imaging and culture. Immediately, curettage and closed continuous irrigation of the hip was performed. Unfortunately the inflammation relapsed three months later. As a second operation, we used hydroxyapatite blocks impregnated with vancomycin in the femoral bone. The patient was healed and he could walk after one year and three months from the second operation.
