Summary:Remote patient monitoring (RPM) for chronic heart failure (CHF) impacts the patient pathway. Cardiology institutions including the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) recommend RPM to be used in practice, however, to date, the extensive evaluation of patient satisfaction using RPM for CHF has been limited. The objective of this study was to assess patient satisfaction while using an RPM solution. A voluntary declarative patient-oriented survey was conducted with the users of a national cardiology RPM web application specific to CHF (Satelia® Cardio). The digital health solution was included in a national experimental funding model program in France under the ETAPES program initiated by the Ministry of Health. Monitoring was based on patient-reported outcomes (7 questions on symptoms, 1 question on weight) which were compiled online (digital patient) or by phone with a nurse (electronic patient). The survey included questions on the perceived usefulness, ease of use and impact on quality of life (QoL). Overall, 87% of the 825 patients were satisfied with their CHF monitoring. Patients found that the solution was easy to use (94%), problem free (95%), well timed in terms of receiving notifications (98%), easily accessible (96.5%), understandable (89%), and required a reasonable amount of time to answer questions (99%). Most patients stated that the solution helped physicians to provide better care during follow-up (70%, mean score: 7.98/10) and 45% indicated an improved QoL for digital patients with CHF. Patients monitored daily for CHF expressed a strong satisfaction with and acceptance to the RPM Satelia® Cardio digital health solution.
