AIRCRAFT GAMMA-RAY SURVEY OF SNOW COVER

The physical basis for and the various methods of measuring the water equivalent of the snow cover by means of gamma-rays survey from aircraft are discussed. Problems of mapping the water equivalent over large areas are also discussed.
