Summary:Abstract Shoulder problems in dogs and horses are a common problem, especially in sport, hunting and service animals. Timely accurate diagnosis and early start of treatment can significantly reduce the duration of therapy and increase its effectiveness. Despite the fact that there are a large number of generally accepted methods of instrumental diagnostics of shoulder joint pathologies, ultrasound examinations in veterinary medicine remain uncovered today. This article highlights the algorithms of ultrasound diagnostics developed by us and the features of the study associated with the species differences between dogs and horses. The article also presents the main necessary projections, as well as the qualitative ultrasound characteristics of the structures of the investigated area in dogs and horses. The result of this study is the formation of a logical algorithm for conducting ultrasound examinations of dogs and horses.
